Consider trying a variety of colors for the ground you use and notice how much it changes all the color relationships. What will be most striking in Venice is the change in the quality of light. It's so much more yellow/orange in nature, plus, since there is sea everywhere, it sparkles.

I am getting excited...I can imagine the colors. I need to try different ground colors. I have never really been one to tone my canvases...Though I do like the effect of using another painting as the toned ground...like in my "ballet" painting.
